Co-Curricular Activities: Learning By Doing

At Dr. J.K.S.M.ISL, Dhanbad besides the classroom teaching-learning processes, co-curricular activities are also carried on for the purpose of developing the conceptual knowledge and holistic development of the students. Co-curricular activities supplement academic curriculum and help in learning by doing. These activities help students to develop rational thinking, reasoning, problem accepting and solving capacity, communication skills, singing, dancing and other abilities to present themselves in a better and more satisfactory manner.

Co-curricular refers to activities, programs, and learning experiences that complement, in some way, what students are learning in school—i.e., experiences that are connected to or mirror the academic curriculum.

Along with academic enrichment our school gives equal importance to co-curricular activities. Part of the school day is devoted to a wide range of opportunities in the areas of sport, music, dance, theatre and other interests such as gardening, waste management, chess, cooking and more. Children can recognise and develop their own strengths through various activities, both inside and outside the classroom.
